Participant Guidelines

At RMAC, we provide all the necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for your flameworking class. To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, please review the following recommendations:

  • Wear comfortable clothing - natural fibers are recommended (cotton, wool, etc.). Avoid loose, flowing, or dangling garments.

  • Please wear minimal jewelry.

  • If you need vision correction, contact lenses are strongly recommended. If contacts are not an option, small, lightweight glasses work best, as you will need to wear our protective eyewear over them.

  • Closed-toe shoes are required.

You’re welcome to bring bottled water and small snacks.

Please arrive a few minutes early. Each class begins with essential safety instruction. If you miss the beginning of class, you may be unable to participate and may need to reschedule. If you are running late, please notify us as soon as possible. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early so we can move quickly into the fun part - working behind the flame!

All items created during class must cool slowly in a kiln overnight. Finished pieces will be available for pickup the following day or can be shipped for $5. We will hold completed work for up to three months after your class. After that time, items will no longer be available for pickup or shipping.

We look forward to working with you and sharing the magic of flameworking!

Age & Accessibility

Flameworking is a relatively accessible form of hot glass work and can accommodate a wide range of participants. However, it is still physically and mentally demanding. We ask that anyone with disabilities or health conditions notify us prior to scheduling a class. We will do everything we can to safely include all participants, but we reserve the right to make a professional judgment before or during the class to ensure everyone’s safety.

Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete and sign a release form.
